Little Girl, Run Your Stick Along the Rails

Little Girl, Run Your Stick Along the Rails…
6/3/2014

Part 1
Run your stick along the rails
did you ever wonder, little girl,
what’s on the other side?
from beyond your (or my) comprehension
Lay the decomposed remains of those
you’ll never know
or stop to ponder,
“Did their existence matter?”
Do they contintinue to impact us (me)?
Run your stick and giggle
not yet aware of the science behind
the last breath or rigamortis
Who stops to think of death?
Not little blond babies, or
observant loving young mommies
stopping their stroll to rub
stick on post and
feel breeze on skin
akin to nearby kin to
other humans still embodied and
many on the otherside (of the fence)
And, little girl, do you wonder
what of the eyelids of the passed-on?
Is that what first goes?
It’s delicate skin turning, changing form
to something else
drop your stick when mommy
scoops you up
leaving the dead on the other side
(of the fence?)
I snapped your (my) picture (for I am you)
in juxtaposition
beside mommy
from the “Safe” side of the rail metal bars
Not my or your or mommy’s time
to die.
Have we all felt gratitude now
for this breath and moment to
exist, embodied
with the sense to smell sweet spring
and feel sun’s cozy love and
have our sticks rub along fences
that separate us from them
our two sides
what do they have in common?
I ask you, little girl,
and I ask myself
What’s (who’s) on the other side?
Are souls tied to geographic body
or free to combine in ethereal oneness?
Do souls, like chemical reactions
combine to form new compouds
a bit of she and a bit of me?
Are souls born again or
converted or is there an end
(of souls?)

Part 2
Are soul ubiquitous
or inside of us, as in, a body,
(though we are not our bodies,)
are souls infinite or exist in
finite timeliness to be redefined
if recombined as all physical matter
has been and will be?
Should it be any different?
After massive stars die they supernova and
the pieces make planets and
comets and beings
when a huge soul supernovas
should it be any less huge the impact
caused by chemistry (of the mass-less soul?)
Can there be chemistry void of mass?
Do souls make soul soup?
Each scoop a new soul
Do souls get recycled, reused?
Can souls become
red dwarfs or
drift endlessly until colliding
like asteroids in the ethereal aboveness?
Do souls experience oneness
if not currently embodied?
Who can answer me?
