Thank You

This is a poem in honor of my amazing father. He's an incredible human, resilient and sweet, mellow and intelligent. He has been there for me in every moment of my life.

For all the years of sacrifice

the tears you hid so

we’d feel nice

to tucking me in well into my teens

to providing love, guidance and things in between

like freedom to be me and

courage to try

space to fall down, get up again

no words like, “I told you so,”

only encouragement

to give another go

Your own transformation

evidence that growth nevers ends

you’re so inspiring

you never stop trying

I’ll never give up

I learned that from you

thank you, daddy

for who you are

and what you do.
